Don't be ruled by chaos!  Memory and organizational problems are not included in the above list, though these accompany almost all brain injuries.  Helpful aids are available.  Look in Med Aids, Organizers, and Timekeepers. 

Generally useful items can be found in any of our Support departments.  Although only some of these products are designed to overcome specific difficulties, all are sturdy and easy to use.  

Bending Difficulty

Life is difficult if you cannot easily retrieve something from the floor.  If bending hurts, or you just can't do it, these aids will help:

• Reachers (Pick up objects with a gripping jaw controlled by a trigger.  Jaw closes when trigger is squeezed.)

• Long-handled tools

• Waist level laundry baskets

• Socket raisers

Living in a world of muted sounds is frustrating - and isolating.  Here are some aids that can help:

• Equipment that amplifies sound

• Items that provide visual indicators of environmental sounds (flashing door/phone bells)

• Personal sound amplifiers (headphones which amplify sound)

These products make life more hygienic, while preserving dignity:
